JADED (THE ROCK STAR TRILOGY #1)
Published April 19th 2013

I'm Scarlett Ryan.

Yes, THAT Scarlett Ryan.

I live an extraordinary life: millionaire rock star, owner of exotic cars, pictures of me in every magazine, millions of fans, and a name that is recognized world wide. It's supposed to be my dream come true. But, my life IS a fantasy, and I want real. I want exciting. I want... NORMAL. So, I moved from California to Florida, hoping to obtain some normalcy. Instead I find...

Stephan Montgomery.

He's an arrogant jerk. Seriously, I hate him. I swear if he tells me one more blonde joke, I will punch him... again... Unfortunately I can't stop thinking about him, or his gorgeous green eyes. Trust me, I know that he's bad for me. If only my heart would listen.

I also find out that my parents have kept a LIFE CHANGING secret from me. I need to know the truth.

The harder I strive for normal, the stranger things seem to get.

Jaded is book 1 of the Rock Star trilogy.

Jaded is a light fun read. Perfect for the summer. I really enjoyed this book, though it needs more editing.

Scarlett Ryan is a rock star. She lives the good life in front of cameras and screaming audiences. Her dream came true and she has everything she needs. And still she wants more. She wants her parents to love her as a daughter and not as a money source. And more than anything, she wants to go back and finish her senior year of high school like a normal teen, so 19-year-old Scarlett Ryan leaves LA to go to Hope, FL. and go to school.

And school is interesting... Meet Ethan, AKA Thor and his rough and wild stepbrother Stephan. Now, at first, with this scenario I thought... Oh no, they're younger... and two. Not good. But I was wrong and I was never more happy about it. Ethan is a great friend to Scarlett who helps her see how high school works and Stephen is the hot guy who turns her world upside down.

The tension and chemistry between Stephan and Scarlett is really good. They joke a lot and they can be themselves with each other. Watching them discover their feelings was really good.

We find out Scarlett's older sister ran away and she's determined to find her and we find out some pretty shocking news. This was really unexpected but it was a really nice surprise and it added a new side to the story.

Scarlett's character is easily likable and a bit annoying at the same time. She's very confident and she really is good but at times it comes across as arrogance.
I think Mercy Amare did a good job portraying Hollywood lifestyle though her.

I wish the book included more about Scarlett's feelings, in a way they feel very superficial for me. I'd also would've loved  more of the story behind Ethan and Stephan.

JADED (THE ROCK STAR TRILOGY #2) BY MERCY AMARE
Published June 6th 2013

I left Hope – the only place I’ve ever felt at home. So now what? Where do I go from here?

When I left, I didn’t just leave my home. I left my friends, my sisters, and Stephan… I just found them. I can’t lose them now.

I know that I want to do MY music. I need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.

On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.

I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

Faded picks up right after where Jaded ends. Thank God, I don't think I could have handle the time apart for a long time.

Faded has a bit of a faster pace but is as entertaining as the first. We have the whole gang back together in Florida, after Alec and Bridgett go to LA to bring Scarlett back where she belongs.

I really enjoyed reading about Scarlett development as a character. She's stronger here. She wants to be free from her music contract and from her parents and do, for once what she likes. She makes some mistakes in the way, but finding yourself is never easy and all is set nicely in the plot.

I think the addition of Alec and Brigett's somehow relationship was a really nice touch. To be honest I was more interested in their story than Stephan and Scarlett's. They had some bigger fights in this book, mostly thanks to the TV crew following Scarlett and they would say some pretty mean things to each other to only automatically take it back and be happy again. I guess I'd like some more drama about it... or at least not an insta-explanation about it.
I did enjoyed reading about them, they're as hot as always and I think their fears were very realistic and well portrayed.

There was one thing that bugged me, and it's more of a little thing I guess but being the music lover that I am I know how much time it takes to make and record a song. And Scarlett does it in record time. I just found that very hard to believe. But it really didn't ruin my experience, it just really bugged my OCD.

Faded is a great sequel to Jaded and it ended at a VERY interesting part of the story I can't wait to read more about. There's a lot more to Stephan and Scarlett's story and I can't wait to see what happens next.
